Careful consideration of the
design of cross-drafts has proven to be the most powerful factor in
engineering successful source capture. Push-pull
ventilation systems featuring reduced air flow rates and redirection of
air flows have been tested and proven effective. Not only does the
push/pull system minimize trouble-causing cross-draft air disturbance,
this modification of ventilation also
produces marked reduction of noise levels
and demands on energy systems. With increased
contaminant capture at the source we see a corresponding decrease
of workforce exposure.
